Heartrising

Heartrising is a commissioned work of art that was created to help reflect on, and connect with, peace and the serenity within the human spirit. Heartrising holds within it all possibilities and is a symbol of weightlessness as it gently turns in a mobile way. The components of this piece were gathered and assembled with some contributions by the client. The long wood pieces at the top and bottom of the work are from an old discarded wicker rocker, a symbol of rest. The square wood shape in the center is the remaining frame work of an old clothes hamper and holds the piece together. The two attached wood components inside the square represent elements of wind, water and air. The vintage silver spoon is a nuturing symbol. The suspended heart shape with a crystal represent the human heart and the spirit within.
