MADE-RITE FAN:
The Made-Rite Corp. of Cleveland, Ohio produced cast iron art deco table top fans of various types. The popular "sea foam green" of the era was widely used. Remnants from the model 407-38 circa 1930 -1940's was utilized for the assembly of the Recycled Rooster.
ALLWAY HAND SAW:
The Ultra Mfg. Co. was founded in 1935 by Louis Gringer. It started with a concept for a pistol grip hacksaw. His father then designed a four-way keyhole saw, patented in 1939 called the All-Way Handy Saw because the blade locked in four different positions. Louis Gringer passed away in 1964, at which point his company had become the Allway Manufacturing Company, still located in the Bronx of NYC today known as Allway Tools, Inc.
HAFF CORK SCREW:
Brooklyn, New York, April 14, 1885 - Edward P. Haff was granted United States Patent Number 315,773 for his invention entitled "Corkscrew". Haff said "The object of my invention is to provide a handle for corkscrew and tools or implements which, while of cheap and simple construction, shall be strong and durable and securely attached to the metal shank of the tool.
SVEA CAMP STOVE:
Svea stoves were first made by C.R. Nybergs Lödlampfabrik of Sweden in 1922.
The Svea 123, introduced in 1955, is considered to be the first compact backpacking white gas stove and one of the most popular camping stoves ever made. In 1969, the Svea brand was acquired by Optimus, another Swedish manufacturer which has continued production of the Svea 123 to the present day. Although it was originally made in Sweden it is now built in Taiwan by Optimus and still remains popular and continues in wide use.
