Revolving Door

The Door itself was discovered hiding covered with dust at the back of a barn along highway 116. It was no where near the other sale items and stood alone. The windows, so disguised by the dust, appeared to be solid. The door was to be the main component of a "Kinetic Time Piece" or " Vintage Collectable Sculpture & Assemblage" by Monty Monty. The work was commissioned by the Sonoma County Arts Council for the "First Night 2000" Celebration. The completed "Revolving Door" appeared in the lobby of the Actors Theater Building in downtown Santa Rosa. The piece was popular and remained at that location long after the event. Later the "Revolving Door" was part of the 5th Rotation Exhibition in the Next Level Building in Rohnert Park. The next stop was where it all began, in the very same yard in which it all went together , took it's first spin you might say. Than at the 15th Artrails Open Art Studios event ,that one time dusty, dirty old door that stood alone and couldn't spin, wowed the crowd and found a new home.

Enjoy! Artfully Yours,
